King Khan & The Shrines Part 2.

Imagine going to a concert to which the venue was the mind of John Ringer, and you're having a dream that involves cobras, whiskey, and James Brown. This doesn't even begin to express the cataclysm that was King Khan & The Shrines friday night at the Great American. Khan (aka Black Snake) in my mind is known for his contributions to King Khan & BBQ Show, a Doo-Wop, Punk Rock minimalist duo with some serious power of enchantment and explosion. However, with The Shrines, Khan cuts the Lo-Fi umbilical chord and gives life to his inner desire to blow you out of your fucking skin with a twelve piece Soul group. Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombone, Electric Guitar, Bass, Key's, Drum, Percussion, Dancer, and King Fucking Khan! He was introduced as "The Devil Of Soul", or some shit like that!?! He came out wearing a cape and some shades and some crazy suit, with whiskey and a snake cane in hand. The stage exploded with energy and it was as though I was immediately hypnotized when he let out the most powerful yell that I have ever heard! What the fuck even happened!?! It was a completely perfectly orchestrated circus for it's entire duration. Everything about it was stunning, mind numbingly powerful, and exuberant! Go see this fucking Band!!!
